The Crime Statistics Agency (CSA) released the Victorian recorded crime statistics for the year ending 31 December 2019 today.

The number of criminal incidents recorded by Victoria Police in the year to 31 December 2019 was 403,807, up 4.6% from 386,205 incidents recorded in the same period last year.

The number of criminal incidents recorded by Victoria Police in the year to 30 September 2019 was 397,849, up 3.7% from 383,482 incidents recorded in the same period last year.

Changes to the year ending September 2019 crime statistics

From 19 December 2019 there will be some changes and improvements to the data released on the Crime Statistics Agency (CSA) website. These changes have included a reorganisation of where data are found on the CSA website and, more importantly, an increase in the amount of data that are available to the public.
