The Crime Statistics Agency has today released its recorded crime statistics for Victoria for the year ending 30 September 2016.

Latest statistics released by the Crime Statistics Agency show that arson offences have caused over $119 million in damage in the past five years, with over $19.5 million in damage recorded in the last 12 months.

The number of offences recorded by police in the year to 30 September 2016 was 543,315. This is up 11.6% from 487,017 offences recorded in the same period last year.
